Finsbury Park Trust works in partnership with tenant organisations, local charities and other organisations to put on a range of activities to improve the wellbeing of local people.

Regular weekly activities

Every Monday 10.30-1 Women’s Happy Hub – open to all women to learn new skills

Every Tuesday 10.30-12.30 Coffee and Chat – open to everyone for good conversation and a cuppa

Food-related initiatives

Food poverty is a major issue in this area, with many people unable to feed themselves and their families one hot nutritious meal a day. The diverse population includes many migrants and refugees. Asylum-seeker hostels are also located nearby, where people have no facilities to cook for themselves.

Finsbury Park Trust has a large kitchen and in partnership with Jannaty Women’s Social Society and Islington Somali Community we have begun providing hot meals when funds permit, distributing surplus food from the Felix Project, and devising cooking sessions to teach people how to cook nutritious meals.

Garden activities

We are improving our outdoor space and will be building an urban courtyard allotment with help from our partners, teaching people how to grow at home and giving others the opportunity spend time in the open air.

Health and wellbeing

We are hosting health and wellbeing information sessions for the local community in our meeting room and community activity space, in partnership with Public Health Islington and the NHS.
